A family-run print
studio, since 1995.
Three decades, one corner of Morningside, and a small team that knows half the architects in the city by first name. Here's how we got here.
Built one job
at a time.
We didn't start as the biggest print shop in Durban — and we still aren't. We started with a couple of plotters, a small counter, and a promise to architects: their prints, on time, done right, every single time.
Print-X opens its doors
Founded as a small reprographic shop on Cypress Ave, focused entirely on the working drawings of Durban's architects.
First wide-format inkjet plotter
Moved from blueprint-era reprography to true wide-format inkjet — full-colour A0 plans out the door same-day.
Scanning & archive services added
High-resolution large-format scanning for legacy drawings — many of Durban's heritage building archives passed across our scanners.
Refresh & collect-and-deliver
Refreshed identity, refreshed kit, and a dedicated collection-and-delivery service for architects who don't have time to drop by.
Thirty years in
Still family-run, still on Cypress Ave, still answering the phone. Bring us your weirdest print job — we've probably done it before.
The reasons we've stayed
busy three decades.
We pick up the phone
No hold music, no chatbot. A real human at the counter every working hour — usually one of the family.
We know plans
Line-weights, scales, paper sizes, fold patterns. Three decades of architect work means we catch errors before the print head moves.
Same day, most days
Email it before lunch, we'll have it ready by close. Collection and delivery anywhere in Greater Durban.
Specialised stock
80gsm bond, 90gsm tracing, 200gsm gloss. The right material for the right print — no "specialty" markup.
Honest pricing
Posted on the website, quoted in writing. No surprise charges at the counter, no mystery setup fees — just paper, ink and labour.
Confidentiality
Tender documents, competition entries, sensitive plans — they go in, they come out, and nothing leaks in between.
Pop in, or drop us a line.
We're at 18–20 Cypress Ave, Morningside. Open most days from 07:30. Tea's usually on.
